Is Enough, Enough

The NY Times recently had an article about a 'new' social class called the HYPER-RICH. The average income for the top 0.1 percent was $3 million in 2002. This article had me thinking how much I want to make. At first I said I just want to be comfortable. What is comfortable and is enough ever enough????

I have said this many times before, and I truly believe it. I think that everyone struggles, I just think that we all struggle on different levels. While the "Hyper-Rich" struggle to afford thier million dollar speed boats and multi-million dollar planes, we struggle to pay our rent/ mortgage and a few other bills all while having a few extra dollars in our pockets to shake a tailfeather at a local hangout and on occasion cop a new pair of pumps. (Ladies, am I the only one who feels as though I deserve a new pair of shoes everytime I get paid?)
To be honest, my ideal of a happy ending is not havng endless amounts of money. I strongly believe that I will always struggle, but I would like to struggle with a dedicated husband by my side, and together we struggle to pay our mortgage, put our children through school, maintain equity in our home and vacation 4 times a year. I think that I would be happy with that.
Always remember that comfort is relative to what you want to acheive in life. If you feel you can only be comfortable if can buy a new mercedes every year, then our ideals may differ. ( I do mean buy. Not finance, not lease, buy flat out.)
But in the end we all merely want to have things and people around us that we can be proud of. Am I wrong?

I believe the idea of enough is just like the idea of tomorrow. Just when it seems as though you will be able to obtain it, it moves further away from you. The only way you can ever have enough is if you stop wanting.

Our needs are usually the first things addressed (for those of us who are responsible) but it is those wants that pushes us further each day. Now everyone is motivated by different things from some of us it is handbags and shoes while others sought out things such as cars and big homes. If you can be satisfied with your one bedroom apartment with your Ikea furniture and at the end of the day you are totally satisfied with making okay money than you have enough.

On the other hand when you sit down and watch Cribs and cannot help but to admire the lay out of your favorite entertainers home and toys and think to yourself, "I need that in my life", then you are then off again to satisfy those wants. So you have to get that better job so you can get a better home, car, clothes, because why not get more if there is more out there to get.
