The Art of Negotiation

Let's face it!. The whole process of finding a suitable romantic companion is nothing more than a negotation. Initially you have two separate entities that are capable of fully functioning without pairing up. For whatever reason the vast majority of humans (at least the ones that I know) want to get married for reasons other than having a child. Human nature tells us we want to gain as much as possible while losing only what is necessary.

When it comes to characteristics/traits of the opposite gender, what is necessary (i.e. can't do with out) vs what is an added bonus (negotiable)?

Why

Sometimes its good to ask these questions. The only question you can't ask is 'Why Not' (you're a loser if you were planning on doing that anyway :)
